Study of the impact of aquifers in absolute gravimetry
During the research for my Master Science I studied the Impact of aquifers in absolute gravimetry. This work was supervised by the Professor of University Nicolas Florsch. The variations of the level of aquifers modify locally the value of the gravity. This variation, predicted well by the theory, is quantifiable by using absolute gravimeters. During these researches, I developed among others a program of digital modelling, called Gravmap, which calculate the temporal variations of the gravity due to a aquifer surface temporarily variable. This program is adaptable to any other variation of fluid, like petrol, on simple demand.
I made a publication of these research during the Congres of the EGU in May, 2004:
Renaud K., 2004. Impact of aquifer variation on absolute gravimetry. Geophysical Research Abstracts, Vol. 6, 07633.
About the program of modelling Gravmap:
I can supply it, without any guarantee and at your own risk. It is in beta version at the moment. It seems correct, nevertheless errors can exist in the scenarios that I haven’t tested. Thank you to indicate them to me.
To download it, send me your email address to the following address: webmaster @ kimrenaud.com , thank you.
